Craft Central and Creative Clerkenwell present at 100% Design 2014 an exclusive satellite presentation of TOTAL FABRICATION, an interactive exhibition of contemporary design for interiors with a material twist.
The primary exhibition at Craft Central’s St John’s Square gallery in Clerkenwell EC1, TOTAL FABRICATION reveals the work of a talented group of designer-makers with an innovative approach to materials, accompanied by a schedule of live demonstrations.
The satellite presentation at 100% Design, curated and designed by Creative Clerkenwell, includes additional pieces from six Total Fabrication exhibitors: TedWood, The Urbanite Home, Jo Woffinden, Troels Flensted, Silo Studio and Pia Wüstenberg.

The son of a classic boat builder, Ted Jefferis trained as a Cabinet Maker and went on to study architecture. All pieces are handcrafted in Ted’s West Sussex workshop using sustainably grown British timber and English saddle leather.

The Urbanite Home furniture range by Phil Davison recycles oil drums into exquisite modern furniture that sits on the fine line between art and design; giving industrial waste a second life.

Through the use of offset and stretched curves, East London-based ceramic and concrete artist Jo Woffinden has produced a series of concrete bowl forms that work with and disrupt simple geometry.

Troels Flensted is a product designer from Denmark and a graduate of both the Royal Danish Academy of Design in Copenhagen and Central Saint Martins in London. Troels recently set up Flensted Studio in Berlin, experimenting with materials, colours and manufacturing processes.

Pia Wüstenberg is a Finnish-German Product Designer with a background in 3D materials and craft practice. Pia’s designs are all made by hand. Her company Utopia & Utility works with craftsmen all over the world to manufacture her works in glass, ceramic, copper, stone, wood and paper. Her own studio, piadesign, is the manufacturer of Processed Paper Products, on show at TOTAL FABRICATION. On show at 100% Design: Stacked vessels.

Silo is the design studio formed by Attua Aparicio and Oscar Wanless while they were studying Design Products at the Royal College of Arts. Inspired by Isaac Newton’s 1689 experiment of rapidly spinning a bucket filled with water by a rope, Silo uses gravity and inertia to create their non-toxic resin bowls, each piece unique. On show at 100% Design: Newton’s Bucket bowls in pink and green.
